Biography:  Dr.  Dennis

Dr. D. L. Brooks Sr., attended Aycock High School in Rockdale, TX, graduating in 1960 with honors.  He graduated from the American School of Marketing in San Francisco, CA.  He later moved to Las Cruces, NM where he attended New Mexico State University, majoring in Sociology and Physical Education.  He moved to Dallas, TX and was employed with Western Electric Co./Lucent Technology from 1965 to 1985.  While living there he attended ElCentro College, majoring in Mid-Management.

 

Dr. Brooks accepted his calling into the Ministry in 1978 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he was licensed and ordained.  He was later called to Pastor at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Rockdale.  During this time Dr. Brooks had a great hunger to attend Seminary.  He travel to Dallas, TX yearly to train at the Institute for Church Development (ICD).

 

Dr. Brooks received his Bachelor of Theology / Master of Divinity from Gospel Ministry Theological Institute in Houston, TX;  he also received a Bachelor of Biblical Studies, Master of Theology, Doctor of Ministry; a PhD in Pastoral Care and Clinical Counseling from Minnesota Graduate School of Theology, Supervising Clinical Therapist, from American Academy of Clinical Family Therapist, Ph.D. in Apostle of Ministry from the College of Apostolic Ministry, San Antonio Theological Seminary, and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity, from Christian Bible College

 

Dr. Brooks is the senior pastor of New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church, the founder and President of the Institute for Teaching God’s Word Theological Seminary, the American Academy of Crisis Counseling, and New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church.  He has also helped establish school in Southern California, Washington State, as well as Europe and Dominica.

 

Dr. Brooks married Clara Clark, July 4, 1963, they are the parents of 4 grown son, 12 grand children and one great grandson.
